We are delighted to announce our new association with
The Roots Agency for all of our bookings. They're doing an amazing job for us, and it looks like you'll be seeing a lot more of us out on the road.

Greetings from fall-crisp Tennessee! This beautiful season has already proven to be busy for us - but here's a little news as we move into the holiday rush.

Studio! ![]()
We've got all the songs picked out for the next recording and we're gettin' ready to track. That will be in January. The "powers that be" at Rounder Records tell me we're looking at a Summer '09 release More as that develops. . .
Blog for this weekend in Birmingham:![]()
Here's a blog for the Alys Stephens Center in Birmingham, where we perform on Friday, November 14. Birmingham is where I cut my musical teeth, so I've got lots of good friends there who "knew me when". If you're interested, feel free to add a comment on the blog.
Congratulations to Jim's son, Brandon Hurst on his marriage to Miss Leanna Potter on November 8th! And congrats to the mother and father of the groom - Judy and Jim Hurst from all of us on the CLB team!
This fall, I've branched out a little, playing in some different configurations. Nothing like a stretch for personal artistic growth and confidence - I recommend it!
Solo:
Nov. 8, while Jim was marrying off his youngest, I ventured down to Puckett's Grocery on the square in Franklin TN where I performed in a "writers' round" along with songwriters Curtis Wright and Donna Ulisse. We had folks come from as far away as Jonesborough, TN and Montgomery, AL! I was amazed...

Duo:
I've shared the stage with Jim Hurst for many years, but never as a duo, until this fall. What a joy to delve into Jim's rich repertoire, and to play some cool new venues - Chais Music Hall in Wartrace, TN (beautiful room, gourmet food in the restaurant), and Crimson Moon Café in Dahlonega GA (another great place to eat). We'll be duo'ing again on Nov. 20 in Jacksonville FL and Jan. 22-24 in Texas (more on TX next month). If you're in range, please do take advantage of this rare opportunity.

Trio:![]()
On October 24, while Jason was flying into Dulles airport in DC, Mark, Jim and I ventured over to the WAMU studios where we performed live on the air and had a fun interview with Lee Michael Dempsey. Without our fiddle player we were temporarily a trio - but at least we had an iron frog with a guitar to keep us company and make us feel complete!

Of course, we love it best to be out together. In Hoboken, NJ, Jason turned cinematographer to capture the CLB stumbling upon a NJ deli, much to our Southern delight. The moment will live forever on YouTube (and in our hearts!).
So here we are... home, now.
